dc.description.abstract | Many studies have examined the use of high-probability (high-p), behavioural momentum, or interspersed request techniques to improve behavioural compliance with requests in individuals who experience developmental disabilities. Of these studies, few have examined the use of the these techniques within the home environment. Ducharme and Warling (1994) conducted a study which successfully used a high-probability request procedure to increase compliance with parental requests, and with the use of a stimulus fading procedure produced successful maintenance of these increases. This study attempted to replicate and extend the findings of Ducharme and Warling (1994) by incorporating the high-p and stimulus fading procedures used into a written workbook which parents then implemented and managed by themselves. A single-case multiple-baseline across-behaviours design, including stimulus fading and follow-up components was employed. Three replications with three different families were completed. Results provided tentative support for the findings of Ducharme and Worling (1994) and established that parents could effectively manage and implement the procedures in a workbook format by themselves. | en |
