The Steam Wharf Stream Group is one of several independent community groups in the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Network in Ōtautahi Christchurch. The group’s goals include restoring the riparian zone of the stream and to increase community ownership and awareness of the stream environment. Monitoring and protecting the known īnanga spawning grounds contribute to both of these goals.en
