This report examines the opportunities for using distributed generation in New Zealand. Of particular importance is the identification of market conditions under which distributed generation technology becomes viable. Much of the technology which falls under the rubric of distributed generation is not new and has to some extent already been adopted in New Zealand, therefore it is the examination of commercial circumstances which encourage distributed generation solutions which is the main concern of this report. The report is intended to be a practical document for use by the New Zealand electricity industry aimed at providing answers to the question “How can I make distributed generation work for me?”en
