This paper examines the information needs of Fire Engineers and relates those needs to the IFC Building Product Model. It identifies what is already provided in the IFC 2x Model and how in particular it corresponds with the New Zealand Approved Document Acceptable Solution C/AS1. The paper then demonstrates how Property Set Definitions can be used to extend the scope of the IFC Model for use by Fire Engineers.en
