dc.description.abstract | My paper will begin with a (very) brief historical survey of the well-known tradition – that of primatology – by which Western science has used apes and monkeys to define and refine its understanding of Homo sapiens. I will then describe a less familiar, and interestingly different, tradition that takes the study of sheep as a means to draw reflect on the nature and culture of human beings. | en |
