This contribution concludes a series of articles on the seismic design of precast concrete buildings. A brief overview on recent developments, after extensive analytical-experimental research investigations, of efficient alternative solutions has been intended to be given within this series of contributions. The proposed solutions are expected to revaluate the use and development of precast concrete in seismic region, which has been limited, to date, by the lack of rational code provisions and by low confidence about their performance due to the poor response observed in past earthquake events. In this issue, at conclusion of the topic, the design aspects will be addressed and the fundamental role of an adequate design approach, at both global and local level, will be underlined.en
