This paper investigates some of the characteristics of the problem which cause the difficulties. A computer based approach to the solution of problems in this area has been developed which finds optimal (or near optimal) solutions in a short enough time to permit iterative development of timetables in secondary schools.enAll Rights ReservedThe construction of timetables for secondary schoolsDiscussion / Working PapersField of Research::01 - Mathematical Sciences::0102 - Applied Mathematics
