(2006) Optimising Ventilation Using a Simple Model of The Ventilated ARDS Lung. Christchurch, New Zealand: Australia New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) New Zealand Region Annual Scientific Meeting, 5-7 Apr 2006.http://hdl.handle.net/10092/455Mechanical ventilation is a “bread and butter” therapy in critical care. It is well known that a properly or well ventilated patient has an increased likelihood of improved outcome. However, selecting optimal settings, such as PEEP and tidal volume are difficult. Especially, as these settings can change regularly as patient condition evolves, particularly in ARDS. Hence, a method of monitoring and capturing these changes and then optimising ventilation would offer significant clinical benefit. Models offer the opportunity to both monitor and optimise ventilated patient status for better outcomes.enOptimising Ventilation Using a Simple Model of The Ventilated ARDS LungConference Contributions - OtherFields of Research::290000 Engineering and Technology::291500 Biomedical Engineering::291504 Biomechanical engineeringFields of Research::270000 Biological Sciences::270800 Biotechnology::270802 Diagnostic applications
