This research has established that 70,359.55 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent units {CO2e) were generated by routine operations over the FY2016-2017 period. External sources of emissions, relating to aircraft landing-take-off (LTO) cycle operation, aircraft auxiliary power unit operations and passenger surface access were the leading sources of emissions, generating a cumulative 95.26% of Wellington Airport's total operational emissions. Internal WIAL Company-relat ed sources were responsible for only 3.26% of airport-wide emissions. This equates to a WIAL company­ attributable share of emissions of 0.00040 t CO2e per passenger. The usage of Ground Power Units (GPU), Recycled Aggregate Pavements (RAP) and the installation of a solar PV system were explored to assess their viability and emissions reduction potentials.
