Using the properties of spin and conformally weighted functions defined on a null cone, an elementary proof of the infra-red coherence condition is given and it is shown that Lorentz symmetry is spontaneously broken on all charged superselection sectors. The implications of these results for quantum gravity are discussed.enCopyright Malcolm LudvigsenSpace-like infinity and asymptotic photon fields in Q.E.DDiscussion / Working PapersField of Research::01 - Mathematical Sciences::0105 - Mathematical PhysicsField of Research::02 - Physical Sciences::0206 - Quantum Physics
