Experimental verification of the Keey-Suzuki characteristic drying curve equations for porous, non-hygroscopic material

The characteristic drying curve theory for the drying of spherical particles developed by Keey and Suzuki (2) was verified by drying 10 mm diameter brick particles in a bench-size rotary dryer. The drying was in the slow regime (μcr˂2). The experimental results appear to support the theory. Thus, it is considered that the characteristic drying curve theory for the drying of a slab of infinite extent developed by the same authors (1) will hold.
