The design and construction of a vlf receiving system is described and the results of monitoring several transmitters are presented. The predictions of a piecewise path model are compared with the observed behaviour, and reasonable agreement is found on this transmission are described, and it is shown that the anomalous behaviour may be explained as long path interference.
