Abstract

The paper analyses the development over the past 18 months of a new national networking project that is designed to build increased capability and capacity within the New Zealand social science. The paper identifies the context out of which the project developed and examines how it has made use of the some of the tools of E Social Science. It then raises questions as to how far these new ways of working create challenges to research practice and form new “knowledge spaces’ for a critical/reflexive social science in the twenty-first century.
