The thesis describes the place in New Zealand law of the torts which cover interference with goods. The history of the torts is reviewed and the relation between these torts (conversion, detinue and trespass) and relevant legislation is considered. A review of law reform in other jurisdictions is included and a proposal for law reform in New Zealand is made.
