PROCESSING TUBE FURNACE TEST DATA AND IMPROVING THE DATA REDUCTION ALGORITHMS FOR UCFIRE

UCFire is an application for storing and reducing fire test data in a useful manner for fire engineering analysis. Three tasks have been identified to enhance UCFire’s functionality and make it a more effective data storage and data reduction tool for fire tests. Firstly, UCFire’s existing mass loss rate algorithm is modified such that it is able to consistently obtain realistic gas species yields. Secondly, UCFire’s data storage capability is expanded to allow for storage of tube furnace test data. Lastly, the data reduction capability is enhanced whereby heat release rates are automatically computed by UCFire for cone calorimeter test data even when they are unavailable in the exemplar input file. This paper describes in detail the work involved in these three tasks.
