Abstract

In this literature review, I 've collected a series of observations and quotes from the electronic media, books and journals that illustrate an interconnected perception of values. The interweaving structure combines the sciences with the humanities to present snapshots of the various values that may influence the way western culture currently views the importance of Antarctica. This literature was used as inspiration for my contribution of poems and observations in the syndicate group report looking at the topic, Antarctica: A strategic asset? so how does the new systems theory Of science combine with humanities, the world wide communications system and globalisation to give us a perception of the strategic value of Antarctica?
