Abstract

This report describes a Simula program designed to model the behaviour of X.25 Public Data Networks and produce statistics on various performance indices of the network. These include such indices as:

  • packet transfer times for each pair of nodes

  • time spent in each node

  • line utilisations

  • wait times for each line

  • buffer utilisations

The user describes the network by suppling the model with information on each node and the lines that connect the nodes. This allows a large variety of X.25 network configurations to be studied.
