This study investigates the potential of NZ silver beech (Nothofagus menziesii) in solid wood and veneer product forms to access European hardwood markets. The focus market segments being high-value applications such as furniture, joinery, flooring, and other high value appearance grade finished wood products. The study also indicates the market potential of other promising NZ hardwoods such as red beech (Nothofagusfusca) and hard beech (Nothofagus truncata).
