Abstract
The purpose of this business case 'The Red Panda Initiative' is to explore the opportunities of the implementation of a document management system into Synlait Milk Ltd. It was found that the lack of a document management system (OMS) and inefficient processes which did not meet the business needs, highlighted the need for a suitable OMS vendor. From this research Microsoft SharePoint was recommended as the most appropriate for Synlait. A high-level implementation plan has been created and outlines the recommended navigation process Synlait should follow. This work has been undertaken by a student of the Master of Engineering in Management Program from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
