Abstract

The fact of colour experience has naturally attracted considerable attention from psychologists; but by far the greater amount of effort has been expended in seeking the How? rather than the Why? of such experience. With the former question this Thesis has nothing to do; its object is rather to see what part colour plays in a purely psychic function.
