The automorphism groups of the Laguerre nearplanes of orderfour
Steinke, G.F. (University of Canterbury. Mathematics and Statistics., 2006)We determine the automorphism groups of the Laguerre nearplanes of order 4 found in Steinke, Australas. J. Combin. 25 (2002), 145166, and give characterisations of some of these planes in terms of their automorphism groups.
Elation Laguerre planes of order 16 are ovoidal
Steinke, G.F. (University of Canterbury. Mathematics and Statistics., 2006)We conduct a computer search for elation Laguerre planes of order 16 and show that each such plane is ovoidal. The search results also confirm the numbers of hyperovals through certain points in the dual translation ...
A family of Minkowski planes over halfordered fields
Steinke, G.F. (University of Canterbury. Dept. of Mathematics, 1996)This paper concerns a construction of J. Jakóbowski [7] of Minkowski planes over halfordered fields. A more group theoretic definition of such planes is given. Isomorphisms between and automorphisms of these Minkowski ...
Generalized Quadrangles and Projective Axes of Symmetry
Steinke, G.F.; van Maldeghem, H. (University of Canterbury. Mathematics and Statistics, 2010)We investigate generalized quadrangles Γ that admit at least two projective axes of symmetry. We show that if there are three such axes incident with a common point x, then x is a translation point of Γ. In case that Γ is ...
On the existence of topological ovals in flat projective planes
Polster, B.; Rosehr, N.; Steinke, G.F. (University of Canterbury. Dept. of Mathematics, 1996)We show that every flat projective plane contains topological ovals. This is achieved by completing certain closed partial ovals, the socalled quasiovals, to topological ovals.
